What is a priest for?

Image
A priest is not a health minister to keep on advising on coronavirus and other health issues. He can even take on and pass on information, but that is not what he was called for. Extremely worries on this issue is leading many priests to forget what they are there for. A priest is there to be a minister of salvation and throughout his ministry lead on people to Christ for Christ is the way, the truth and the life and we need Jesus to get to God (John 14:6). Jesus is true God and true man and that is our Catholic faith. Bringing a Muslim to sing his call for prayer in a Catholic temple can only mean two things: extreme disrespect to our Catholic faith or lack of knowledge on how they see Jesus. Allah is not our God, Mohammed is not our prophet and sharia is not our law. This is no disrespect to Muslims (and I have some Muslim friends) for that is not our faith but theirs. The priest in this video (click on this link ) is only mocking the Catholic Church and the Muslims. A priest is no

Who is Jesus to you?

Brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, what a big joy it is to belong to God! In the presence of the Lord we are strengthened, in his presence we are refreshed, in his presence we are renewed, in his presence we are restored, in his presence we are enriched with all the blessings and graces we need for each day. God is powerful! God is wonderful! God is holy! “Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven in Christ. Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love, in whom, through his blood, we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness of the grace which he has showered on us in all wisdom and insight.” (Ephesians 1:3-4;7-8) You and I were chosen by God, kept apart, separated, bestowed and blessed with every kind of spiritual blessing in Jesus Christ! We are not anything at all, we are not what the world wants us to be, we are not even

CORPUS CHRISTI

Hallelujah! Glory be given to God through Jesus Christ in the strength and grace of the Holy Spirit. Whenever we have a strong and important theme, we have to fight a real battle against hell in order to be a channel of God's grace. But that doesn't take away the great joy in the heart for being able to share this wonderful formation: Corpus Christ. From the Latin we have the translation "BODY OF CHRIST". We want to reflect and go deep on the matter, which has much more to do with the Catholic world than with other Christian religions; even less with other religions. But we will see that it is not a symbolism or a cheap custom but a reality that often goes unnoticed in our society: What is the body of Christ? Where does it come from? What is the meaning of its existence? Why do Catholics love it? Is it idolatry? Why to celebrate this feast of Corpus Christi? Let us start with the word of God to have today's direction motivated by the biblical truth in whic

Hail Mary?

In the course of my Legion of Mary work, what we call a weekly "duty" I was in a so-called stall, outside the oldest Church in the city of Belfast (St Mary's Chapel Lane), here in Northern Ireland. It has been notorious the presence of atheists, lapsed Catholic, people of other religions and also protestants passing by. What amazes me, the most of the time, is the arrogance in which protestants have when approaching Catholics,  judging they are going to find people who are in the Church only per tradition, that they do not actually believe in what the Holy Mother Church teaches nor have a clue what their faith is about, that they need to accept Jesus... It was one of these days, when a gentleman approached where we were standing with the beautiful paint of the Legion of Mary and started to point the finger out to some people who were with there. He started by saying, "This is outrageous... Only Jesus saves... There is no need for Mary, she was a normal woman,

What to fight against?

We would like to start today with St. Paul, who was a glorious and aware soldier of Christ. He knew the reason for his sufferings. It was not in vain. He knew where he had put his trust and did not have doubts about the power of God. “That is why I am experiencing my present sufferings; but I am not ashamed, because I know in whom I have put my trust, and I have no doubt at all that he is able to safeguard until that Day what I have entrusted to him. ” (1 Timothy 1:12) How many Christians today are all ashamed, they can only complain and murmur (which is the praise of the grubby , as Father Leo, SHJ would call the evil one) before God and men about their sufferings, their pain, about all bad that happens in their lives and do not accept anything that happens to them. Nothing is ever good! And by not being good they even come to say that God does not exist because they suffer too much. St. Thomas Aquinas have already addressed some of these matters in his Summa Theologiae and in
